No trip to the Kootenays would be complete without a visit to the Village of Kaslo. To facilitate your exploration of this unique and beautiful area are these two very special campgrounds. Just north of Kaslo on the shore of Kootenay Lake, both sites have views of the Purcell Mountains to the east.

These sites provide access to the lake for water sports and are very popular fishing areas. Local hiking areas include Buchanan Lookout, Monica Meadows and Idaho Peak. Of historical interest is the restored paddle wheeler the SS Moyie located in Kaslo and the “ghost” town of Sandon.

The Village of Kaslo, home of the Kaslo Jazz Festival, also offers great restaurants and unique shops and a relaxing Kootenay flair. Not far away is Ainsworth Hotsprings a “required” stop on your visit, especially after a busy day of touring.
