Nakusp/New Denver area has something to offer for everyone. Fishing, boating, hiking, swimming, sailing, scuba diving, camping, golfing, great historical museums, scenic backcountry Provincial Parks, sandy beaches, picnic areas, water sports, horseback riding, hotsprings and much much more!

The Nakusp/New Denver area offers great museums and historical sites covering the rich history of the Slocan Valley.
 

Several gardens are open to the public as well. Kohan Garden and Hidden Garden Gallery.

There is a lot to do on the lakes and rivers near Nakusp including fishing, kayaking, scuba diving and boating.

There are lots of great hiking opportunities in the Nakusp/New Denver area. Brochures and guides are available. Go here for a listing of great hiking and biking trails.  Valhalla Provincial Park and Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park also offer great day and backcountry hiking opportunities nearby. Organized guided hikes are available through Halcyon Hotsprings and Valkyr Adventures

For further information on hiking and biking in the area check out the Kootenay Mountaineering Club or Explorethekootenays.com. For information on biking routes go to www.cycling.bc.ca. Some hiking highlights are the historic Galena Trail and Idaho Peak.

If hiking is not your thing, the Nakusp/New Denver area offers other modes of transportation in the backcountry wilderness. Including horseback riding and ATVing. Halcyon Hotsprings offers mountain tours via ATV/quad or horseback. Hot Springs Adventure Tours offer daily horseback and quad 4x4 tours. Mistaya Country Inn and Horseback adventures offer horseback riding as well. 

After a hard day of hiking, take the time to enjoy one of 2 hot springs nearby.

Nakusp has a beautiful golf course available to the public. Slocan Lake area has the Valley View Golf Club.

The cities of Nakusp/New Denver offer an arena sports complex, Bonnington Arts centre, public Library, museum, roller hockey, squash courts, tennis courts, playgrounds, bocce court and ball fields.
