For the avid hiker and biker, some of the most spectacular mountain and lake vistas can be found on the many trails and by-ways that wind their way through the West Kootenays.

From arduous treks up to mountain tops, to relaxing strolls along lakeshores, the West Kootenays has thousands of kilometers of trails that will keep the hiker strolling and the biker peddling for days!

1. Revelstoke

Revelstoke is situated near two Mountain National Parks, Mount Revelstoke and Glacier. Both these parks offer scenic hiking, backcountry mountaineering and fishing. The flower meadows in Mount Revelstoke National Park are a must see in the summer months. Many great day hikes are available in both the National Parks and there is lots of opportunity for great mountain photos.
The National Parks are not the only areas that offer great hiking, biking and climbing in Revelstoke. The Information Centre and the Revelstoke BC Forest Service office carry hiking and biking trail pamphlets, which are available to the public

2. Nakusp/New Denver
